Top Three Places To Set Up Apartment Surveillance In Your High Rise

There is give and take when you select a high rise apartment to live in. On one hand, there are a large number of apartments in a high rise and many have card or call entry to keep the flow of people down to residents only. On the other hand, a high rise can have a lot or residents, which means that there is a larger chance of some unsavory neighbors being around. In any case, one of the ways that you can protect your apartment and improve safety is to install your own surveillance cameras. Here are three places that you should install your apartment surveillance cameras. 

Outside on your balcony

Depending on where your apartment is located, your balcony may overlook the outside of the apartment or it may overlook an interior courtyard or pool. Either way, your balcony is where you will want to have an extra set of eyes. If you are interested in surveillance cameras, put a camera on the railing of your balcony that is focused on pointing towards your balcony and balcony door. This will give you information on if anyone is climbing up on your railing or attempting enter your apartment through your balcony door. 

Front door

One of the busiest places in your apartment is likely to be your front door. if you can attach a camera at your front door, this can keep you and your family safe. It can also help prove any unsanctioned actions or lease violations if you find yourself in a spat with neighbors. If your neighbors know that you have cameras, there is also likely to be less loitering or issues happening around your apartment. Before you place a camera at your front door, be sure to ask the apartment complex for proper permission. As long as the wires do not interfere with the decor or with the drywall, many apartment complexes will consent to this safety measure.

Near the valuables

The third place that you want to have cameras inside of your high rise apartment is near any valuables. This spot can be different for anyone. For some, valuables may be kept in a lockbox inside of the closet. For others, the valuables may be sitting on the desk in the form of electronic equipment. Since apartments can have inspections or maintenance work, you will need to have a method for keeping valuables safe.
